Don't you just hate when your car breaks down? I know that they always seem to be breaking down at the worst possible times, as if there is a good time for your car to stop running. Many times we own cars that are not "new" cars and they just seem to have problems. It could be an alternator or a carborator, it really doesn't matter, if they are broke it just plain stinks and you have no other option than to get them fixed.

Searching for car parts is a stressful thing as well. I know that I have had little things to wrong and I called the dealership for the price on a part only to find out that the little piece of plastic or metal was going to set me back a couple hundred dollars. Do you know what I did to fight that high price? I bought a used car part for a few dollars and saved a bundle.

UsedAutoParts are not all that difficult to find, depending on where you live. I know that growing up in rural Pennsylvania there were a lot of junk yards that you had to choose from, but now that I am living in South Florida it is more difficult to find what I need. Fortunately for me I was able to find just the right part that was being sold through a used auto parts dealer the last time I had car problems. My mechanic told me where I could find it.

So the next time you need an auto part and the one that is sitting at the dealership is just too expensive for you to buy, remember that often there is a used car part that will work just as well and will save you a lot of money as well. It's worth the effort when you learn just how much you can save.
